Emerging markets like the Philippines and other SEA countries with high population growth, sensitivity to food inflation, and a high proportion of food spending relative to income offer much potential for implementing the Hard Discount Retail format. an established format in places as diverse as Poland, Turkey, and Colombia.

Despite the continuously challenging economic situation due to the COVID-19 pandemic, DALI was able to celebrate the opening of its 113th store in the Philippines in January 2022.
